PostSubject: Naya Cascade Ally   Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:59 am

So i made a Naya Cascade Ally deck in about 20 minutes last night and it seemed to be okay but i just feel like it could be better. any advice helps. here's the deck list:

Creatures
Kazandu Blademaster [x4]
Ondu Cleric [x3]
Makindi Shieldmate [x2]
Highland Berserker [x4]
Murasa Pyromancer [x2]
Kazuul Warlord [x3]
Oran-Reif Survivalist [x4]
Joraga Bard [x2]
Turntimber Ranger [x2]

Instants
Harrow [x4]
Naya Charm [x4]
Violent Outburst [x3]

Sorcery
Captured Sunlight [x2]

Lands
Forest [x9]
Plains[x6]
Mountain[x4]
Ancient Ziggurat [x2]

I do have to say that it is pretty cool casting violent outburst and cascading into ondu cleric...(gaining life and triggering all my allies...works for me)

I'd personally take out Harrows and add Bloodbraid. That will increase the odds of you playing another ally on turn 4. I'd also say that the cleric isn't as good as the berserker here since cascading into a berserker off of Violent outburst is considerably more beneficial if you are on defense or even attacking. If you feel you need the extra lifegain, maybe behemoth sledge? I just don't feel like ondu cleric is constructed playable when he can't do anything in combat by himself and all he really does is gain you life. And stop playing Joraga Bard already!

I'll agree with Jake on taking out the cleric and the bard. Sideboarding the cleric might work really well against aggro, so keep that an option. Definitely focus more on cascading into allies and you could be into a really intense aggro ally build.

I would say -3 Ondu Cleric (move to sideboard), -2 Makindi Shieldmate, -2 Joraga Bard, -4 Harrow, -2 Captured Sunlight, -2 Turntimber Ranger

+4 Bloodbraid Elf, +1 Violent Outburst, +1 Kazuul Warlord, +4 Lightning Bolt, +3 Garruk, +2 Sarkhon Vol

Kabira Evangel could be a good card option that also can be cascaded into off Bloodbraid, seems like it would help your allies get in there if you can't find a Naya charm to tap their team. Against mono color decks it obviously gets significantly better as well. I don't really think its the best, but its a thought. Although, there might just be better cards to take the slot. Sideboard possibly.

The mana will need some work if you take the Harrows out obviously. Perhaps some m10 duals would work well if you are worried about EtBFT lands. Sunpetal Grove and/or Rootbound Crag. Jungle Shrines if you can handle 4 lands that come into play tapped. A couple Arid Mesa if you can get ahold of them.
