Ok, I feel this deck has solid game against every deck in the format. But im bringing it to you for suggestions, or to talk me out of my haze. So, without any further ado I bring you...

Snookie Want Smoosh-Smoosh:

2x Liquimetal coating
4x treasure hunt
4x lightning bolt
4x slagstorm
3x searing blaze
4x shatter
4x preordain
4x pyromancers ascension
4x iarchive trap
4x see beyond
2x call to mind.
4x scalding tarn
2x arid mesa
2x evolving wilds
6x islands
7x mountains

sideboard:
4x crush
3x pyrexian revoker
2x liquimetal coating
4x flash freeze
2x koth the hammer

OK, now for some explainations;

Liquimetal coating enables me to deal with things i normally wouldnt be able to when combined with shatter. It also allows me to shatter vs decks without artifacts (shattering a valakut? yes plz!).

Slagstorm seems strictly better than pyroclasm to me. It kills caws and other little monsters with gear or if im ascended it'll wipe the board or do 6 damage.

Shatter even though the deck is running a ton of targeted removal for gear grabbers its good to have a way to deal with the gear itself. also allows me to kill manlands, plainswalkers, enchantments when combined with liquimetal coating.

Archive trap can single handedly win games before even playing a land if you have 3-4 in your hand and they fetch. this explosiveness is worth it for just the few games you'll win on turn 1-2. Late game when ascended just one of these can win a game.

Call to mind is a card im on the fence about, it seems like a really solid final spell to seal up a game but early its probably pretty bad except for snagging slagstorms again.

8 fetchlands because the deck needs 3 mana total to cast anything cept trap so I'd rather devote land slots to deck thining. its like half my lands are cantrips.

Sideboard:

Crush is super good vs tezz and against cawblade i think i side in all the crushs and liquimetal coatings because killing thier lands is soo good.

Revoker is a sneaky little surprise that seems good against almost every deck right now, he might get bumped to 4.

Flash freeze pees all over primevals, koths, avengers, and all the stupid green enchantment removal

Koth the hammer another spot i might need to change, but after playing ascenion and seeing how good moving in a creature from the sideboard was i would expect adding a plainswalker who not only makes a big creature every turn but after a couple turns turns my land draws into gas.

OK so lemme know what you think, what you would change, any decks you see that would have an exceptional matchup vs this that i missed.

holy shit, buddy.
archive trap is GG against caw-blade. no one is running eldrazi these days and blightsteel only cares about himself.
i think you might be on to something there.
Smile

p.s. turbofog/trap for such a time as this?

i dont care if i mill all the cards in your deck except blight steel, i just draw, say go, draw, say go, start shuffling for the next game. AND if i did hard cast that trap and you shuffle blightsteel back in i can then trap you again for free if i have more.

i don't think that a bounce spell is such a bad idea.
maybe the one that can bounce anything would be ideal.
i'd say test the coating/smash combo if you can.
if just bouncing stuff to buy tempo is more satisfactory, consider that in place of the combo.
i like it because it hits stuff you don't otherwise deal with well.
let me know what you come up with.

I feel like the coating is a big part of why this deck could be viable because it makes shatter and crush amazing.

As much as it pains me to say this, I feel like a Liquimetal Coating deck in general would be viable right now. All the maindecked artifact hate is relevant pre-Liquimetal Coating in the: Caw-Blade, Boros, Kred matches and completely owns Tezzeret

I buy the ascension thing, I do. I'd go 4x roil, as alluded to--it ends the robot--ascension's efficient enough to almost assuredly draw off it. Did you list Arc trails...seems viable even at sorcery speed.

I went 1-3 with liquimetal recently, but mostly because I'm bad at this soulsucking game.

Never arc trail because many times you have to hit yourself with ascension.
